Getting Started

01 — Create Your First Pattern

Sign up or log in with your email, then open the Creator workspace.

Create a new project and open a canvas to start designing. Draw shapes, edit paths, adjust dimensions, and refine your pattern using the available CAD tools.

Creating, editing, saving, and previewing your designs are free. You can return to your projects and continue working whenever you like, within your account's project and canvas limits.

02 — Design with an AI Agent (Optional)

Want help bringing your ideas to life? Connect your preferred AI agent to Phicorn through MCP (Model Context Protocol).

1. Sign in and open Agent Connections.
2. Follow the setup instructions for your AI agent.
3. Review the requested permissions and pricing before authorizing access.
4. Describe your design idea, dimensions, or changes to your connected agent.

Your agent can use Phicorn's design tools to help create and refine editable patterns.

You can review the results in Creator, make adjustments manually, or continue refining your design with your agent.

Connecting an agent is free. Cloud MCP platform access, including design reads and edits, costs 0 Credits. Cloud PDF and internal AI are separate services; review their current quote. External AI provider charges are separate.

You can manage or revoke authorized connections at any time.

03 — Calibrate Your Printer

Printers may produce slightly inaccurate dimensions, even at 100% scale. Phicorn helps correct horizontal and vertical printing differences without changing your original design.

1. Create a profile. Open Printer Calibration, name your profile, and select your paper size and orientation.
2. Print and measure. Print the calibration sheet at Actual Size (100%), with automatic scaling turned off. Measure the horizontal and vertical 100 mm reference marks on the paper, then enter the actual measurements.
3. Save and verify. Save your measurements, then generate and print a new calibration sheet to check accuracy. Repeat with a new sheet if needed.
4. Apply your profile. When generating a pattern PDF, enable Apply printer calibration and select your saved profile. Print with the same settings and check the dimensions before cutting.

Your calibration profile can be reused with the same printer and settings. If your printing setup changes, recalibration may be needed.

Printer Calibration is optional and recommended whenever printed dimensions are inaccurate.

04 — Export and Print Your Pattern

Turn your digital designs into full-size sewing patterns, ready for printing and cutting.

Review your dimensions and layout, choose the canvases you want to export within your plan's limits, and generate a PDF after confirming the export settings and applicable Credit fee.

Print at the Correct Size

For standard printing, select Actual Size (100% scale). Turn off fit-to-page and other scaling. Always verify the printed measurements before cutting.

If you apply a calibration profile, keep the same printer and settings used for calibration, including 100% scale, and check the printed dimensions again.

You can continue editing your digital design without exporting a PDF. Full-size PDF generation is a separate paid service.
